The Princes Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales, and Frederick John Pervin to help young people. They run a range of training programmes, provide mentoring support and offer financial grants to build the confidence and motivation of disadvantaged young people. Few events can have given more pleasure than the Trusts tenth birthday party, held at Wembley Arena on Friday 20th June. The first half featured Big Country, Joan Armatrading and Suzanne Vega, Level 42 and Dire Straits-no complaints there. However, the second half was distinctly exotic, thanks to a startling ensemble under the name of The Princes All Stars. Held at Wembley Arena on 20th June 1986 to mark the first ten years of the Prince's Trust, this fantastic event saw performances from a who's who of music, including George Michael, Tina Turner, Elton John and Rod Stewart. Paul closed the show with a rousing version of Get Back, as well as performing Long Tall Sally and I Saw Her Standing There. Tour blog latest. From the tour archives. In the store. Here is some video taken earlier in the day. The Prince's Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales to help vulnerable young people get their lives on track. It supports 11 to 30-year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or have been in trouble with the law. Various Artists. Everytime You Go Away - Paul Young. I think it was the first Prince's Trust Rock concert and others followed. Check on YouTube to see clips of this and other ones. This DVD only contains some highlights from the concert and not the full concert. On the downside, aside from not getting the full concert, is the video quality itself. These concerts have been hard to find and this DVD looks like it's a VHS transfer with no remastering done and no bonus features. The concert was filmed well enough at the time and this and the other Prince's Trust concerts deserve a proper DVD or Blu-ray treatment, including remastering, restoration of all songs, and additional bonus materials. This is the best you can get for now
