Jorge Santana is the first solo album by Mexican guitarist and former Malo member Jorge Santana, released in 1978. The backing up features former Malo members, as vocalist Richard Bean. Jorge Santana born Guillermo Santana in Autlán, Jalisco, on 13 June 1951 died 14 May 2020 was a Mexican guitarist brother of musician Carlos Santana. He was a member of Malo who had a top twenty hit in the U. Billboard Hot 100 in 1972 with Suavecito. He released two solo albums on Tomato Records, Jorge Santana and It's All About Love, featuring former Malo members. In the mid-1970s he played with the Fania All-Stars. Jorge Santana, the guitarist for the Latin-rock band Malo, best remembered for the 1972 hit Suavecito, died on May 14 at his home in San Rafael, Calif. He was 68. His death was confirmed by Michael Vrionis, the manager of his brother, the guitarist Carlos Santana. No cause was given. The San Francisco-based band Malo - the name means bad in Spanish - played a laid-back fusion of jazz, rock and different forms of Latin music, not unlike the sound that catapulted Carlos Santana to international fame.
